I bought this mic after many hours of searching for the best mic for me. I wanted to start making videos for YouTube but didn't want to spend too much money on a microphone if it didn't work out. This product is perfect for beginners as it offers you good sound quality. If you plan to update it in the future, it's not a huge loss. It comes with a stand and is ready to use. Just plug it into your computer's USB port and start recording. As for my setup, I currently have it on a boom (NEEWER mic stand with suspension and scissors) with a shock mount (Blue Microphones Ringer Universal Shockmount for Ball Microphones) and a pop screen (Dragonpad pop filter, studio mic, mic, wind screen, pop screen, Swivel mount, flexible gooseneck mount, 360 degrees). It might be more than necessary for a beginner, but given the overall cost I'm very happy with the quality it produces. ** If you're looking for a cheaper alternative for a decent quality setup, I'll put this mic in an acoustic foam (Mybecca 12 Pack Acoustic Wedge Studio Soundproof Foam Wall Tile, 12" x 12" x 1" (12 square feet), made in USA). See attached picture for a better idea. This created a simple "recording booth" that produced a pretty good sound. I recently changed my setup because I needed more desk space. All in all, I would recommend this mic to anyone interested in quality audio recording. If you're looking for higher quality recording, you might want to look at other Blue mics. I hope this review and setup tips have been helpful to you. Happy entries!
