The end of the locking pin should be flat

The quality of the materials appears to be satisfactory at this point as they are housed in a high quality spring block. Use of a "locking pin" to limit or prevent sight movement. I changed the locking pin to make the fit more secure. Since the rings are shipped from the factory, the locking pin is sharp (like the tip of a pencil). It makes no sense to me, except that the manufacturer is trying to get more bolt holes with a tapered tip, otherwise a pointy bolt would be a lousy bolt. I filled the tip to a flat blunt end. This allows most of the safety pin to hit the walls and bottom of the safety pin hole in the rifle. I've seen many photos of rifles being scratched because the pointed tip bounced off the receiver easily. Hopefully this mod will reduce those chances. I encourage anyone to measure the seat of the pin in the rifle rest hole and file/grind that spot as it's really useless. My .02
