Worked but did not replace

"Original Equipment Compliance" and "All units are tested on their respective heatsinks prior to release to ensure precise and consistent fitment" gave me peace of mind that this a fall is - there is no one in it the 1.8t Jetta replacement. The distance between the top and bottom mounting holes was 250mm on the original, while the new one is only 235mm. Using a round file I was able to lengthen the holes enough to work, but there was no room left. There were correct mounting holes for the A/C reservoir studs and the clutch bracket was also fine, but there was no hole for the lower radiator hose clamp. I used a 3/8 bit for this, but found the 4 original mounting screws were too short. A quick trip to the Ace and I've got it and it works great but I've been sweating in there for a while. The hijacking company is charging $800 for these fans, so it's a good deal if you can make the changes to make it work.
