As with most things, the simpler the better. This thing snaps onto your mic stand (or any small tubular surface) in seconds and doesn't move until you move it. I trust him to hold my $400+ Fishman pedal at every gig. I play two to six gigs a week and this little shelf has been a solid and welcome addition to my setup, often eliminating the need for a side table. Combined with the OnStage cup holder (which mounts the same way and is another simple product that works great) your mic stand becomes a versatile workstation. No more bending over to adjust the pedal, turn on the tuner, or pick up/put down a drink. I recommend using it with at least a moderately heavy mic stand as the added weight of moving the shelf and all items on it can shift lighter ones if not properly balanced and/or secured to the stage, especially indoors. Wind. The built-in microphone holder is a great addition to your microphone tools. I don't use it, but the extended arm comes in handy for hanging a guitar cable during breaks. If you think it can benefit you, then it will. Highly recommended for musicians who want to optimize their setup.
