Causes input spikes and mouse lag on my computer (updated)

I have the version "Anker Ultra Slim 4-Port USB 3.0 Data Hub with 10W Power Adapter / USB Wall Charger Included" for use with a Macbook Pro 15 ( model The end of 2013). In general, I like Anker products, but this hub clearly doesn't work well with my computer. Simply plugging in will cause other devices on the computer to lag behind. I spent hours debugging why my Logitech Anywhere 2 Bluetooth mouse was starting to lag and stutter a lot, swapped it out for a different mouse and tried a Unifying receiver instead of Bluetooth, removed drivers, and checked other sources of input spikes. Simply plugging this hub in with no other devices connected to it will result in spikes in the input. I'm a graphic designer and gamer and I'm very sensitive to variations in mouse input. The problem goes away when I disable the anchor hub. It doesn't repeat itself when I connect another hub. It does not matter whether anchor works with or without electricity. The difference is subtle but noticeable for anyone sensitive to responsive mouse input. This may also have been at the root of the recent Bluetooth streaming issues I've had. speculation time! I suspect something in the USB controller in this hub is not working well with my laptop's USB controller and is causing a conflict. I've tried working connected and disconnected with this hub to see if that's how it seems to me, but I don't think so. Bluetooth is internally a USB device, so if the port I connect the Anker hub to is shared with a Bluetooth controller, I could see how that might affect audio and input on my Bluetooth mouse, which leads to Data transfer problems could result, but that is pure speculation on my part. A workaround might be to simply plug the Anker into a different USB port so it doesn't conflict with other devices using that data path (this is a strategy used by DJs with lots of USB music hardware), but i think i only have i will return it. UPDATE: Anker customer support contacted me and helped resolve the issue. Turns out the problem isn't with this hub specifically, it's with ALL USB 3.0 ports! I found the problem by googling "USB3 interference"; The USB 3.0 data rate can generate high frequency noise that can affect Bluetooth performance. This does not happen at USB 2.0 data rates; This is an issue with the USB 3.0 hardware implementation and apparently this was a big problem and a big surprise to the tech community in 2014. Use a different port and that seems to have fixed the problem. The bottom line, however, is that you can't use USB 3.0 devices with your laptop and expect a reliable Bluetooth connection. It can also cause problems connecting to Wi-Fi that operates on the 2.4GHz band; I use 5GHz at home and haven't noticed this at home. You can use USB 2.0 devices on your laptop's USB 3.0 port without any problems because it does not increase the data transfer rate and cause interference. The severity of the interference appears to depend on the computer manufacturer's implementation of USB 3.0. In short, those who don't need Bluetooth or a 2.4GHz radio can probably do without USB 3.0. I've noticed that many other USB 3.0 hub vendors are reporting wireless interference issues; The description of this particular hub makes no mention of it at the time of my review. The hub itself is still pretty good and Anker offered to refund the cost due to the inconvenience to me. The customer service experience was very good and I am grateful to them for their technical support.
