Read this review - NOT A BAD camera

If you're looking for a compact, easy-to-use digital camera that takes good photos, look elsewhere. I'm pretty good at digital cameras and I usually try most of the extra features, but this camera (Cyber-Shot DSC H70) just doesn't take good photos, even with all these features. You'll be referred to this rating in other reviews, but whenever your photo includes a white object - like a white bowl in the middle of a table or someone wearing a white shirt in a portrait photo - the white will be severely overexposed and the rest of the Ruin photos (also post photo retouching doesn't work because the whitewash effect is so dramatic). That's a big, big disadvantage. Honestly, indoors or outdoors, this effect appears and spoils the photos. Another aspect of this camera that ruins photos is that there are too many options for plain old portrait photography. I had to take photos for professional reasons. I put on a suit and went into the building to take a picture with this camera (I admit in advance I should have used something more professional). We took 20 photos and the background was either too dark, too yellow/orange, or completely grainy. If a digital camera can't take a direct portrait of someone sitting in a room (with or without a flash), then it's useless. We had to go outside to take the photo and then a white shirt created a massive whiteness in the photo almost ruining it (I cropped the photo to a headshot that could be used). If you plan to use this camera to take pictures of landscapes in nature, when nothing is too bright in the photo area, then this camera will take good photos. The panorama function is good and works well. These 2 points prevent me from giving this product 1 star. Automatic smile detection, automatic skin adjustment and other bells and whistles are useless. I want a camera that takes very good simple photos. This is NOT the camera. I paid $189 (vs. $169). It also doesn't cost $169. Zooming and a high pixel rating are attractive features, but photos are grainy and cropping to a small portion of a high-resolution photo doesn't look good. I used to have a Sony (T6) and a memory card that I wanted to remap. This camera wasn't worth it. I had to shake my head and go for the T9, even though this camera has minimal zoom.
