I have a 27" iMac with two Thunderbolt ports. This USB-C will not connect. I've tried reasonably, I'm just embarrassed to be nervous and it won't connect. I have a separate USB-C SSD enclosure that plugs into both ports. just fine. It's not about the connectors, it's about the connector. I don't know, what should I do. I think it needs to be sent back. UPDATE: I exchanged the machine for a replacement machine because I thought the item I received was defective. Well the replacement was just as bad; the lightning connector this was TOO LOOSE! The connector wouldn't stay in, and even holding the connector didn't keep the connection alive. Not to mention the cable is so short it's dangling weirdly from the back of your iMac. Also, from the ver package shows that the item I received this time had previously been returned. Why should you return a defective product to the buyer! I do not recommend this product or this company/brand. I'm surprised the reviews are so good. Maybe I'm just unlucky, but I think it's unlikely.
