Review on Runner Dirty Dog Doormat by Dog Gone Smart by Jeff Kersey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I use them everywhere!

I have 3 of this size which I have placed all over the kitchen in the cottage. I bought them from a local pet store and then ordered 4 more from Revain because the price was a quarter cheaper than the pet store. Got a really good deal at $19 each but unfortunately it disappeared when I tried to change the order! I keep two in the back of my Honda Element - much better than towels, one in my home kitchen and one at the cottage entrance. They look amazing and with the paw print they keep my dog house going. I accidentally created a new application. I was an oar judge and ended up without a raincoat in a regatta where it rained all day. I grabbed one of the mats (runner size 5' x 3') and wrapped it around so the plush side was closer to me and the rubber side was facing out. It repelled the rain, kept me warm and offered a plush boat seat! When dogs come out of snow, sleet, rain or mud, I run them across the mats several times to clean their paws. When the carpets are dry, I shake them out so as not to wash them at all. I have one next to the kitchen sink so it's soft to stand on and soaks up crumbs and spilled food. Just this month, instead of constantly washing towels and pads out of country drawers, I bought 2 medium sizes that fit nicely in a 36" x 20" drawer. They had a strange smell so I washed them first (threw them in the dryer although hanging them up was recommended) and everything is fine. Again, I liked them and the size, so I immediately ordered 2 more boxes for the house. I skipped burgundy because I read reviews that the color bleeds across the floor or carpet, so I have cream/khaki and brown (cheaper than cream/khaki). I like the look, the softness, the absorbency and the color. I used to buy "flying carpets" or similar at animal shows - they seem to absorb liquid and dirt, but they are flat and not very attractive - ugly actually. I paid a lot for them and used them around the house and element but have since replaced them with these. Some noted the gum base. So far so good on the runners. The box-sized ones don't have a rubber backing. Since they gnaw at the bones in their drawers, I plan on washing them more often and maybe even getting two more so I can turn them over and stick to the "hang to dry" recommendations. As with my own shoes, I do not use fabric softener and will not use it.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
