I bought them for handicrafts but the hot glue didn't stick so well. I love having them in my toolbox for random stuff and I really enjoy using them to find studs. Growing up on a construction site, I know the ancient ways of finding thorns, as well as electric thorn seekers. But both methods result in occasional errors, and when installing something like a TV stand you need to make sure you hit the center of the bolt. I use these magnets to find where the drywall nails/screws are under the paint. They hold onto the head of the bolts fairly well and you can put a few in and then drill/hammer somewhere in between to make sure you hit the bolt in the middle.
