So after spilling a cup of water on my previous favorite keyboard (G-Pro with Roamer G switches) I had to replace it. I tried to fix it, but I've owned it long enough that the keycaps started chipping off anyway. These were fancy keycaps, so the only way to get a direct replacement was to find a used one. A used roamer-g g-pro costs almost as much as a new gaming keyboard, so I started looking around to see what else was out there. This is how my journey began. From that point until the last time I bought a keyboard, the enthusiast community became much more popular. After watching many videos and seeing what custom keyboards are capable of, I was intrigued. So I started browsing recommended budget boards and came across this one. I really wanted something that sounded decent when I typed it and was hot-swappable so I could try out some of the many, many switches. It doesn't compare to some of the more expensive 60/65% boards. but they have other disadvantages, and I needed the Fn and Home/End keys. I've ordered some yellow gatherers and stabilizers which I'm going to oil to make it even better. This is already my favorite KB and I haven't even started modifying it yet. Notes: The backlight is not super bright. It's very "boring" but I like it. I typically use low backlighting in the dark, and the darkest settings on light keyboards are usually too bright for me. At the time of this review, the software is unusable (crashes on boot), so you can't remap keys or change color presets (update : Contacted support, they sent me a firmware patch and now the software works!). The keymapping is XD84 which seems to have limited customizable keysets (you can use the default set if it has a 1.75u right shift key and 1u alt, fn and ctrl keys. The keys on the far right row have a height of , which does not match their strings unless they are also included). I found out that they make the pudding set in XD84 and it would probably look amazing with the matte soft light on this board. I received it in black but I highly recommend the white. Especially if you want to remove the side cover.
