I love this little thing. I have twins aged 3 and a child aged 5. The twins take up all the space in the shopping cart and let the five-year-old go. Unfortunately he is delusional. I tried to tie a ribbon so he could hold it, but he ended up getting too close and stepping over. I like that this handle is stiff enough to keep it off the cart but not so far out that it might get in the way of other people. I didn't bring them all to the store before, but that helped a lot. I'm sure I'll end up buying another one when the twins outgrow the wagon. I also love that it comes in different colors so every child can keep track of their pen.
