I've only been using it for a few weeks but I like it. I just ordered a second one for my home computer. I bought this for my work from home and it was truly plug and play with no software to download. My favorite feature is the back and forward buttons, which I use a lot. I have small hands and this fits me perfectly. To be honest, I don't really notice the colored lights when using it. I've found that I have to turn off the computer completely to turn off the lights, but that's ok, then it saves energy. I will update if anything changes.
