Review on ๐Ÿ”Š Lisle 52500 Mechanic's Stethoscope: Enhanced Sound Amplification for Accurate Diagnosis by Jake Mccallum

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Irreplaceable item for self-diagnosis

I noticed a noise in the area of the V-ribbed belt on my old BMW 5 Series. I tried one of these to see if I can identify what needs attention. (I own an old BMW with the expectation that I'll do most if not all of the maintenance and repairs myself, but I'm hardly a master mechanic.) Tools separate amateurs from professionals.โ€ I wasn't sure how I knew I was wondering if I had successfully detected the sound, but as I poked around I heard a buzzing noise in my headphones and still noticed the rhythmic chirping of a single coil outside of my ear tubes. Then, as soon as I nudged the hydraulic belt tensioner, I heard the exact sound I was looking for, amplified by the ear tubes. It's easy and probably the best specialty tool I've ever bought for under $20.
