I don't like the transparency of this set but I understand that they are water based. I like the case very much. It keeps them in place well and the zipper works great. I like that they are easy to open and see everything, yet they can be removed quickly and cleanly. Color variety is normal, the entire last "page" of the markers is in dark tones, which is fine if you feather a lot, but I don't. I focus on gem tones and that's what I turn to every time. I would prefer a range of more exotic colors that are more solid and less transparent. One color that I particularly like is neon fluorescent orange and I enjoy promoting my projects with this color. The tips are light and hold, but some of the thin ones don't flow well and most brush tips are too soft for my liking. But if you use a lighter touch and focus on the "brush" rather than the pen as a highlighter, you'll have better control and better results. Happy coloring!
