Review on C-Force CF015 Next 15.6" OLED Portable Monitor with 3840X2160 External Resolution by Joel Blanton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I returned mine, there were a few issues preventing it from being perfect.

When I bought it, there weren't many answers to questions about it. Here are a few highlights: + Good price, solid build quality and a particularly nice hinge cover included, a glossy screen which I prefer and the best feature is the lack of touch compatibility as the touch digitizer is an annoying feature on all OLED laptops added screen. door effect. It's the only non-touchscreen 4K OLED, so pixels are crystal clear. I wish there were more non-touchscreen options. + Response speed is impressive. All OLED panels have a very fast response, but sometimes the driver electronics cause a delay. In this case, when mirroring my laptop's OLED screen, both screens were perfectly in sync. The high-speed camera couldn't tell the difference - The screen looks very good, but the colors are slightly off. Settings are very minimal and don't allow for much color calibration other than toggling the R/G/B channels up and down. My laptop is also a 4K Samsung OLED, but this screen seems a bit sharper in terms of hue and saturation. Of course, this screen is still better than the best non-OLED. The screen won't be fully bright unless you plug in the included power adapter. That way, two USB-C cables always come out: one to the laptop and one to the wall for when you need full brightness. A bit clumsy, and there is no description of this limitation. FreeSync, G-Sync or other variable refresh rates are not supported, which hurts the games. How difficult would it be to add basic FreeSync support? - No true HDR support; There is a setting to enable "HDR" but that's just a setting that lowers the brightness. Windows doesn't recognize it as HDR capable. No VESA mount, maybe too much but it would be nice to have some screw mounts for VESA. Some other portable monitors come with a battery, but this one doesn't. . I would happily pay a little more for the battery option. The plate is "sunk" into a plastic frame. It would be nice if the glass was flush like other portable monitors, as it's easier to clean (otherwise the lint gets in the corners). Flush with the glass would also make it easier to fit a tempered glass screen protector as it could be a bit larger and still fit in this case.

Pros
  • 15.6 inches
Cons
  • Packaging is not nice
