Revainrating 5 out of 5

I highly recommend my particular model (read the review for more info); Tips for comparing scratching posts are offered.

I have been using this for three months now and am very happy with the particular model I have ordered. (Description of the model I ordered: Size: 50"(L) x 26"(W) x 74"(H) Model No.: A7401; Cover Material: Faux Fur; Cover Color: Beige; Cover Material: Beige Top: Plywood Stand Diameter: 3-1/2" Dimensions: 50"(L) x 26"(W) x 74"(H) Maximum Holding Weight: 60 lbs . . .This model is of excellent quality Quality and my cats love love love it even though they are inside out cats and can climb trees I have 3 tips for buying scratching posts from Revain: Scroll to the very bottom of the product page to view the sections Read product description and product details carefully, and look for trees with 1) larger diameter supports (3.5" minimum) 2) plywood (NOT chipboard or particle board). Tip #3 - Get a scratching post with ALL supports that are wrapped in sisal, not a combination of carpet and sisal or a carpet Cats like sisal in my experience g after a lot, also I find it much more scratch resistant than carpet. On wood - I think the Armarkat brand is generally good quality, but even within that brand many of their cat shots are instead of chipboard plywood. On the model I ordered, all bases and platforms are high quality smooth plywood. Chipboard ramps only. If you require a model with a particle board base (perhaps because you want a design that is only offered in particle board/pressed wood) I would apply some varnish or polyurethane to the exposed pressed wood parts to try to make them more durable. continuous. As for the bar diameter - make sure you get a 3.5" diameter bar instead of a 3" or less; this is of great importance for stability and strength. I spent a lot of time choosing which one to order and worrying about the size of the platforms (i.e. in this model I'm talking about the three platforms that are at the top). on separate perches) and if they are too small for my cats. It turned out that even larger cats like to squeeze onto the platforms and hang a paw or two over the edge. And the stability of the bars when the cats are lying on these platforms was not a problem for me. It was easy to assemble. The instructions are good and the kit included the two tools needed to assemble it. I took my time and walked slowly and carefully, and it still only took about an hour. The carpet is easy to care for and hard-wearing. I vacuum it every two or three weeks and use a wrung out cloth with soapy water to blot or wipe away dirt as needed. I had dirty paw prints and cat vomit and used liquid detergent diluted in a bucket of water and then used that solution on a wrung rag to wipe the mess away. Even with the very light carpet on my model combined with the cats that roam outside on the nearby cattle ranch and love to wallow in the dirt, it's easy to keep clean. Terrace. However, I live in a fairly dry area and would never do this if I lived in an area that gets a lot of rain. However, I do my best to protect it from possible rain or fog. The quality of this scratching post model is generally very, very good. I've already touched on there being plywood (not chipboard/pressed wood) and larger diameter frames and heavy duty carpet. But everything else is also of good quality. The hardware is solid with no sharp edges or protruding clips, the carpet and sisal are securely attached, the cubes (pre-assembled) are square, precisely and solidly assembled. took it over right away. It took others a few weeks to a few months but in the end they all liked it and started using it. And they ALL used the scratching post right away, even if some of them didn't start climbing right away. I felt a little guilty when I first ordered for wasting money as my cats have access to the great outdoors, trees and fields, but once I got it I quickly realized it was one of the best purchases that I have ever made for my cats .
