Review on πŸ” Enhance Precision and Comfort with Donegan OSC OptiSIGHT Binocular Magnifying Visor in Blue by Kelly Caballes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Donegan makes it up to you

All plastic construction and reduced material makes it lighter, easier to wear in hot weather, minimally obstructs your normal and peripheral vision, and is an overall more affordable Donegan compared to the flagship Donegan OptiVisor OptiVisor headband magnifier 2 1/2X magnification. It's made simply so little can go wrong, it's easy to clean, easy to adjust visor or headgear tension, and the lenses are very easy to swap out and install. I have no problem wearing this item on my head for hours, unlike the OptiVisor which is worn like a crown and screwed on to sit comfortably on the skull, you can wear the OptiSight in a variety of positions that you will find safe and comfortable because they are worn like glasses. I wear it on my head like sunglasses and pull the lens down so I can see straight ahead easily. Other times, when I'm alternating between magnified vision and my unaided eyes, I wear it like glasses, with the headband positioned closer to the back of my ears. A headband strap is optional for smaller heads, or if you like a tight headband I don't use it. The reason for choosing Donegan over competitors with a similar appearance is their reputation for good looks. While glass is better for optics, plastic can be just as good and weigh less if _made_ right. Lenses must be free from subtle aberrations, to prevent eye fatigue or worse. Headache, and this may not be noticeable until you've worked for hours with cheaper lenses that look normal on first inspection. If you're going to buy a cheap loupe, you have to find out how good the lenses or headband design are by buying them and working with them for hours. For stealth purchases, Donegan is the best choice due to the consistent quality of lenses and visors across all models. Lighter acrylic lenses mean a lighter visor and can be worn longer like glasses. Donegan uses the higher performing Optivisor for its glass lenses with loupe attachment options or the acrylic lenses in the OptiVisor LX, both at a premium price. Optisight comes with 3 lenses, which allows users to optimize magnification for different types of work. Optivisor and LX come with a lens to choose from. As expected, the distance between the lens and the work object decreases with increasing magnification. However, properly made visors should have the same distance between the lens and your eyes; Some cheaper models don't, and that makes their interchangeable lenses blurry and useless. For those who are interested, Donegan claims that all of its visors are designed and manufactured in the USA. A downside is the pocket for storing extra lenses. Without them, they are easy to lose.
