The back of this lamp is uneven

The illustrations do not show the back of this lamp. There is a protrusion that sticks out about 1/4 inch, about 3/8 inch in diameter. This grommet protects the wires coming out from behind. To install this lamp you need to drill 3 holes. I installed it on the back of my Class 8 (Freightliner) truck as a marker and it works great. A small nuance - a "bump" sticks out behind the lamp, this is a rubber bushing that protects the power wires at the exit of the case. For mounting on a flat surface, a hole must be drilled to allow the wires to pass through the mounting surface. I drilled a 7/16 hole, no big deal unless the mounting surface is 1/2" sheet metal like mine. Added two 3/16 holes for mounting (not included) mounting screws. The lamp works fine easy 2 wire connection and the ground wire is marked good product good price
