I bought this part to replace the original fan assembly on a 2008 Ford Escape. The Revain price for this Dorman unit was a lot cheaper than the local auto parts store. Also, it was obviously a lot cheaper than the original part from the local Ford dealer. The packaging was fine, resulting in perfect condition upon delivery. It comes in the original manufacturer's packaging (i.e. no additional Revain packaging). The item was wrapped in a large sheet of cardboard. The other side of the part where the fans are located has been protected with foam to prevent the box from being crushed. The workmanship is in no way inferior to the original. It seems solid and weighs about the same. The fans rotate smoothly. There are slight differences in shape, but it's pretty close to OEM. Screw holes and electrical connections match perfectly. Installed for about a month, no problems. Works with an acceptable noise level. The bearings in the original were shot, so the noise level went down for me. For those wondering, this is a relatively easy replacement for two people working together. Components at the front of the stacker are crowded together and prevent the fan from being removed properly. The local independent workshop gave me 3 hours of work so I am assuming the repair manual says the front grille and bumper fascia need to be removed to access the radiator from the front. I was able to complete the exchange in less than an hour with the help of a friend. The screws at the top of the plastic grille can be loosened, allowing it to be tilted forward. If you remove the brackets at the top of the radiator and unhook the upper coolant hose, it can also be tilted forward. There is just enough room to insert the fan into the gap created. Two people are crucial. One has to gently pull/bend the grille and radiator so nothing breaks, and the other to pull out the old fan and put a new one in. It will be too difficult for one person. Generally this part and process is retained. me at least $300 more than it would cost at an independent store. At a dealership with an OEM part, it would cost a few hundred.
