After replacing literally every component in my ignition system my Ford 300 still had a pretty bad ignition at idle. As a result, I could not pass the problem and renew the registration. As a last try I put an MSD in there and it fixed the idle problem. The truck now starts in turn 1 instead of turn 3 or 4 and coasts very smoothly. The inspection station noted that my emissions were the lowest they'd seen from a '90s truck since it was new. I can't comment on the fuel consumption as I didn't drive much between buying and installing it. There wasn't a significant increase in power, but throttle response was much better (standard 300 L6, which isn't surprising). Assuming the device will provide me with reliable service for several years, I would be happy to buy another one if needed. I found the root cause of my emissions problem, bad capacitors in the stock control box. After the replacement, the machine works like a new machine. I haven't had any more problems with this msd ignition since installing it. I still have bypass jumpers in my toolbox in case it fails based on other reviews, but I feel stupider every day when it doesn't fail.
