Well, to be honest, the description stated the dimensions of these lamps, but somehow I didn't expect them to be that small. But I went and set mine up (I bought a pair). Put one on the end table in the living room and the other on my bedside table so I can read in bed. They look beautiful, I'll give it to them. But they are very light, which makes them unstable. Suppose you wake up in the dark and want to reach for your bedside table to turn on the light. Assuming you know where the switch is (the little toggle switch on the cord, not the lamp), you can grab it and hope to hit the right spot in the dark. If you don't, and sometimes even if you do but reach for it with over-enthusiasm, you can tip this lamp over very easily. I did that - accidentally of course - with my two lamps. No damage so far, but it doesn't take much imagination to imagine what kind of disaster could happen. I'm worried. But here's the solution: add some weight at the bottom. The base of the lamp appears to be hollow, with a small piece of fabric glued to the underside. I think I could take the cushion off, maybe fill the base with sand, then put the lining back on. This can make the lamp more stable. It looks like the manufacturer should have taken care of that, but given their inertia, I might try it myself. Keep for updates.
