A Pie Pan with Pros and Cons

I purchased the American Metalcraft 1200 aluminum pie pan to bake my famous cherry pie, and it did not disappoint. The deep dish design catered excellently to my recipe, which called for a lot of filling. The 11.875" pan also made the pie look larger, which was a plus. Unfortunately, upon first use, I noticed that the pan had a noticeable bend on one edge. It did not affect the baking process, but aesthetically it looked odd. Additionally, when cleaning the pan, I noticed that the aluminum had started to discolor and peel, no matter how delicately I washed it. Overall, the American Metalcraft 1200 11.875" Deep Dish Aluminum Pie Pan has its pros and cons. The deep dish design is perfect for pies and quiches, but the quality of the aluminum could be improved. While it still gets the job done, it is not the sturdiest pan out there.

Pros
  • Even heating - The aluminum construction of this pie pan heats evenly and quickly, ensuring that your baked goods turn out perfectly every time
Cons
  • The non-stick coating may chip or peel off over time, posing a potential health hazard if consumed accidentally with food
