For long hair they are required.

I have long thick hair and this is a must. Helps a lot when I get out of the shower, just style my hair right in one of these and push it out of the way while I dry off, do my skincare, do my makeup and brush my teeth THEN I can work on my hair . Until then, at least it won't get wet thanks to the microfiber! Highly recommended!
