Love it! Hair Dye

I have natural hair that has not been colored or chemically treated in 4 years but has some heat damage. My natural hair color is a medium ash brown with some highlights in the front as I spend some time in the sun. Recently I tried to give my hair a dark red color using hibiscus flowers but found the process to take longer than I expected. In the first photo, my hair is before the procedure, but after several treatments with hibiscus. The second photo is in my bathroom under heat lights. Most of the following shots will be in this light. I bought a burgundy package. After making the mixture I didn't have it processed as the package directions said it wasn't needed for burgundy or red henna but I contacted the henna guys after noticing some conflicting information on the website and they did said that henna should be processed for 8-10 hours to release the dye before applying it to the hair. I ran a two strand test to determine the mix I wanted to use. When I was just using the black tea the test came out darker red so I changed the liquid blend and made a second one. I was happy with the results. Here's the liquid blend I used: I brewed 4 ounces of Earl Gray tea, brewed 1 cup of hibiscus flower in 8 ounces of water, and made 10 ounces of dark roast coffee. For 2 tablespoons of henna powder, I added 1 tablespoon of each liquid to achieve a 2:3 powder to liquid ratio. I didn't add ACV because I read that the acid can sometimes react with the alkaline indigo. It took me almost an hour to apply the mixture to my hair and I feel like I can't cover every strand. In some places it started to dry out, making it difficult to do this. I will add a little more liquid next time as I think the consistency of my cake batter was thicker. I left it in my hair overnight for 10 hours and then rinsed it out with conditioner until the water turned pale orange. After that I applied Cantu Coconut Curling Cream as my hair was very dry and I detangled it. The second three photos of the hair were taken immediately after rinsing and after applying Cantu and tying my hair in a ponytail. The third photo was after washing my hair about 28 hours after washing off the henna and blow drying it. I then made a set of flexible wands and touched up some of the areas that were frizzy with my hair straightener and the rest of the photos are the result. After 3 days the color stayed the same. It turned out exactly how I wanted it. I will update this review in a week.
