We love hiking in the countryside and this monocular is powerful enough to bring birds to us without being too heavy. Much better than our big clunky binoculars as you don't have to fiddle with two eyepieces. The simple one-handed focus knob is ingenious and well designed. The phone's camera feature is a bit clunky, but it works. The optics are surprisingly good. Being glass, they add a bit of weight but cost a few ounces more.
