Review on Dritz 58-75 Machine Needles: Ball Point, Size 11, 4-Count, Nickel - Review & Buying Guide by Kelsey Brown

Size #9 Needles

This is a good brand of sewing machine needles. Size #9 is for lightweight fabrics such as cambric, voile and cambric. If the packaging is red, then the needles are universal, that is, only for woven materials. If you are sewing knitwear or stretchy fabrics, you will need a pen needle, which comes in a yellow box. Most people don't know it, but it's a good idea to change your needle after every project (or after eight hours of work). sewing) not only because the needle will dull over time, which can lead to skipped stitches and other problems, but also because each project uses a different fabric, so you'll likely need a different needle size or a different one for your next project need needle type. . Don't just use the same needle your sewing machine does too! Buy several packs of different types of needles - sizes #9, #11 and #14 are good to have on hand, both universal and ballpoint. If you are sewing denim or heavy twill, you will need a denim needle. When sewing on lycra or spandex blends, you will need round point needles designed for very stretchy fabrics. Dritz needles are usually affordable and you get four needles for the price, so one pack will last you for a while. They are durable and don't break which is great. A few years ago I bought another brand and broke 3 pins in one day! Now I buy Dritz instead and the only time my needle breaks is when I forget to change the presser foot, when I switch from straight stitch to zigzag. In short, these are good needles. They fit most sewing machines, so if you're working with lightweight fabrics, give them a try. Five stars and recommended to anyone with a sewing machine.
