I LOVE these pads for so many reasons. I've been using them for 16 years. They are very comfortable, absorb A LOT, don't cause thrush, are soft, stay in place, comfortably shaped and don't crease or lump under the bra. They are great if you need to use anti-staph or thrush medication or any other cream. They're thick enough to prevent my over-sensitive blushing reflex while being discreet but don't make me hot or sweaty like other brands. Their edges show up a bit, but no more than any other pad when wearing a shirt that is too tight, hard and not at all when wearing a thicker or softer bra; Forcing me not to use them is no problem. To help my sister-in-law, who had an obesity issue, find the best nursing pad absorbent, I went out and bought a box of each brand available at my local Babies R Us and tested each (with cups of water). See which held the most liquid without soaking or dripping. Johnson had almost as many as Lancino, who had the most. In order not to be wasteful I tried to use up each of the pads I bought but when I actually tried to use Lansinoh pads they left little beads of silicone on my skin which had to be wiped off thoroughly before applying. being able to breastfeed my baby, which is a major inconvenience for this busy mother; they were also very warm. They made me feel like I was wearing another layer of clothing useful only in the dead of winter; and they weren't breathing, which contributed to the thrush problem. I ended up throwing out all the other brands because they were either not breathable enough to prevent thrush, or too hot, or too itchy, or too exposed/crumpled, or too crumpled/noisy (some pads make noise when you pound them - useless if your baby falls asleep with his ear right on the sound and wakes him up I found the sound embarrassing Johnsons are quiet like any fabric I've never had a leak but they helped make thrush breathable and quick to wick moisture ( Of course you need to be sensible and change a wet pad as any moisture on any pad can contribute to thrush.) Lansinoh for two reasons: (1) she has VERY large breasts (she's 40F+, I'm 38D/40C) and found that all others feel lost in their bra and (2) their nightly lactation was too much for any other pad, I would recommend these pads to anyone who is small to medium sized or even large boobs, abe r especially for those struggling with thrush or sensitive skin. I've fed 7 kids with just about every problem imaginable: cracks, tears, hypersensitive skin, thrush, mastitis, overproduction and more. And these are definitely my favorite pads. If they ever stopped making them, I would seriously cry. To be honest I don't know what I would do. Maybe after the tantrum I would try to make my own. I love them so much that I won't swap them out for other brands when my store is sold out - others just can't keep up. I usually find them available at one of my local stores and make sure I have an extra box on hand just in case as I run into the issue of running out of stock from time to time.
