These combs (Kent Combs; R7T, FOT and 81T) are very good! What I think makes them so good is the way they are made and the quality control. They are not pressed into a mold, so they don't have a "dross" that is squeezed out where the two dies meet and are squeezed together to form the object. Lower quality combs usually damage the hair. These combs are "cut" which means that the saw blade cuts into the plastic blank and forms the "teeth" of the comb. Kent doesn't stop there, however. Each "tooth" is then "rounded off" and polished on its surface to a glassy texture. Lower quality combs also do not have this property. So if you use a regular hair or beard comb, you may feel some resistance and even some sticking. This tangle and drag damages hair on a microscopic level, resulting in frizzy, broken, scarred and damaged hair shafts. You can even scratch your scalp or face if you press a lower quality comb against your scalp or face. These combs won't do that to your hair or skin. Thanks to their thinner construction, they glide through hair with minimal resistance and hardly scratch the skin underneath. (Pressing something against the skin hard enough can cause damage.) I have not used the R7T or 81T. In this case, all three combs are of the same quality. They are just different sizes and have different distances between the teeth. They are also used for different purposes to some extent. R7T for thicker/longer beards and 81T for mustaches. All of them will work universally, but they have their own purposes. I've used FOT dozens of times to brush through my thick beard and evenly distribute the beard oil/balm. I have never experienced the slightest jolt or abrasion. I have a cleaner, shinier, healthier and more attractive beard thanks in part to Kent Comb FOT. In the future, the R7T and 81T will also play a role if necessary. Again, I only needed FOT for today. I recommend this set or one of the Kent brand combs for daily beard grooming or occasional daytime or evening grooming.
