If you would have asked me 10 years ago if I'd ever want a cooling blanket, I would have laughed. Who on earth would want that? I wanted to be bundled as warm as possible, since I was always freezing. Well, that's ended. I'm cool when I go to bed, but I wake up HOT every night, sometimes sticky and wet. It's absolutely awful. I sleep with a fan in my face. I still need socks, though, because my feet are still cold.ANYWAYS, this blanket is FANTASTIC. It looks thin in the picture, and it's thin, but not THAT thin. I'm glad, because I was concerned it was more like a sheet. It's definitely a blanket. I also have a cooling comforter and I would say they are the same levels of warmth/cool.If you haven't used one of these yet, it's really weird because I'm warm AND cool AT THE SAME TIME with this blanket. And, they are two distinct feelings. I am definitely warmer than I am without the blanket, yet I have the distinct sensation of coolness-- so obviously, I that is difficult to put in to words. If I have ht blanket on the cool side touching me, my husband is freezing. So, we've compromised and turned it around so the warm side touches us, but i keep one leg and one arm ON the blanket and that's enough to cool me off completely (with the fan).It is fantastic technology and I love it. My kids have one, too.I also can use this one as a sort of top sheet with another light quilt over it and I'm still at perfect temperature.I do NOT use this blanket or my cooling comforter with a top sheet-- that would ruin the entire effect. However, this washes SO EASILY (both do) and dries so fast, you don't need to.I wash this when I wash my sheets-- easily washed in the older top load washers, too-- it's much smaller than a regular blanket or comforter.Recommended HIGHLY
