Misplaced USB charging ports on new model - bad design change

I explain my one star rating. I have 2 old version GE surge protectors with USB ports on the front of the surge protector and 2 newer versions with separate USB ports on their own docking stations. This rating refers to the new model. There is no hardware to install a USB docking station and there is no easy way to install one. While I like that the USB ports can be placed closer to the desktop user, I prefer the older version. Hardware is required to install the USB dock, otherwise it's just another electronic device floating around and cluttering up your desktop. At least make it so that the dock can be installed using the hardware that comes with it, which also gives the user the option of either installing it or leaving it free-floating. If you look at the back of the USB dock, it's clear that GE intended to design it to attach to a clasp, but eventually they changed their mind. They wouldn't bother sinking the back with 4 slots, they would make it a rectangular box that lays flat on what some would call the back or the bottom. Obviously this is a last minute design change to save costs. I'm happy with the performance of the surge protector, but unhappy with the new design of the USB ports. I never had a problem with the location of the old design phone charger USB ports. It would be nice if GE would at least offer separately sold hardware. If the price was reasonable I would buy. I think I should be "somewhat pleased" as my surge protectors don't hum like some others report, but the newer models haven't been used in over a day. Hopefully they don't start buzzing in a few days or months. Thanks GE.
