Review on DailyShoes Women'S Military Combat Boots With Credit Card Pocket - Mid Calf Fold-Down & Up Buckle Design! by Jack Malloy

Not perfect, but love to wear them and they served me well on a long trip

I bought these shoes in anticipation of a week-long trip that would involve a lot of hiking around cities and over rocky, snowy nature areas, while still wanting to feel like I looked cute and be able to continue wearing them day-to-day after the trip. Tried them out several times in advance of the trip and found that the traction was decent, they fit as expected, they felt warm and comfy, and looked great with leggings or tight jeans. They didn't have quite enough cushion for my plans to walk around all day on hard surfaces, but I was easily able to rectify that with some cushy inserts with arch support. These were the only shoes I wore throughout my whole trip, and with the inserts they served me great the entire time, in style!I also really loved the hidden ankle pocket, which repeatedly saved me the hassle of futzing around for a wallet or bag because I could just quickly grab money/ID out of it's secure spot in my shoe. The only real criticisms I have are small notes about the design. The flaps that fold down around the ankle don't seem like they're made to be folded up; the fabric on the underside isn't faux-leather, and clearly looks like a different material if you fold up the flaps to wear the shoes in a traditional combat boot style. Furthermore, the grommets for the laces still have an interfacing material on the underside of the flaps, which looks ugly if you fold them up. I was able to carefully remove the sticky interfacing with a seam ripper and a lot of patience, but unless you want to do that, you can really only use them in the folded-down style.

Pros
  • Very versatile
Cons
  • The sizing may not be accurate and may run small or large
