Review on ๐Ÿ–จ๏ธ Silent Printing Powerhouse: Artillery Sidewinder 300X300X400mm by William Turner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Amazing price, reliability and great print quality

This is my second 3D printer after switching from Creality CR-10s. I was never able to get decent adhesion on the CR-10 due to the uneven build and poor print surface. I was tired of constantly messing around and getting frustrated, so I decided to give the Sidewinder a try because it had everything I needed. In short, I was very satisfied. From the moment you receive your package you can see that Artillery/Evnovo cares about their product and is committed to innovation. The printer comes very well packaged with many spare parts. What I like: Clean and modern design; continuous; flatbed; easy to level; excellent print quality out of the box; -- and finally silence! Man is a quiet thing. You will not believe it. There are fewer dislikes. The alignment knobs are difficult to remove and put back on, but they are very accurate. The other thing is that I would like net bed leveling to be included in addition to manual leveling and leveling probe support. One caveat: the bed is VERY sticky and you have to wait for the bed to cool down. down before removing the print. The test file on the included USB heats the bed to a whopping 80ยฐC, which practically welds the test cube to the PLA bed. I didn't want to screw up my level or risk damaging the bed, so I put 4 ice cubes around the test cube, heard a pop and boomed. Force is not necessary. Another tip: take your time, make sure the Y-axis carriage rollers are properly tensioned, and warm up the bed a few times by fully loosening the handles. I did this by heating the bed to 100C for five minutes and waiting for it to cool completely. I did this twice before re-tightening the knobs and hand leveling at 60C. This seemed to fix the small dent in the middle of the bed. Also, the glass was very flat in most directions. Overall it's 4.9 out of 5 and it's the perfect printer for the beginner or advanced user and it's excellent value for money. There is a great artillery community on 3d Nexus and Reddit with custom firmware if you are an advanced owner and need features like grid alignment and an orientation sensor.
