I wanted to be able to turn off the ions and this gave me that and made my thin fine hair FULL. Also, I wanted something with TURBO HEAT, not just a cold cock. This one has both. The "weird looking attachment" with this machine dries my hair almost HALF the time. It also creates volume and lift at the hair roots. I bought it because of the ion mode and turbo and got a lot more. It's lighter than any hair dryer I've ever owned. EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MORE. LOVE this hair dryer. It costs twice as much.
