Review on 🌍 Exploring the World: Melissa Doug Wipe Clean Surface Geography Puzzles by Gonzalo Marshall

Someone cutting pieces isn't very good at following lines

I wanted my kid to put together a map puzzle to explore the states and get acquainted with their shape and arrangement. I chose this one because the pictures in each state were cute and I liked their designs more than the other options. Wasn't disappointed with the graphics but the shapes are awful! The patterns don't match the lines at all! The shapes are extremely simplified, so it shouldn't be that hard to cut them right! For example, the top half of Texas is connected to part of Oklahoma, and part of Montana is connected to Idaho. It's so nice to look at the inaccuracy of the cuts. I bought this for my 5 year old to play with but I didn't expect a 5 year old to be able to draw and cut. Additionally, some of New England's tiny states are united into separate parts. They have their individual shapes painted on the underside but are very difficult to distinguish on the actual piece.

Pros
  • Durable surface
Cons
  • Repair
