We have a VERY hard time with slip-on shoes and Mary Janes that other girls her age seem to be wearing. They always fall off. Crocs are nice, but she can't wear them to school. They are PERFECT to wear with shorts, no socks, they stay in place and are playground safe. They're also not very common, so she gets a lot of compliments! I preferred them to Keens because of the price. They were about $15 cheaper. My only complaint is that they stink VERY quickly, but wash up just fine. Oh, and it took about a week to break them in before they stopped blistering on the heel and top strap.
