I ordered this inexpensive blue/pink clip trio to replace a machete claw clip that cost more than all three and broke immediately. When first used these clips are exactly as pictured and have a secure hinge. I have thick long straight wavy hair and these bobby pins can keep everything in the right chignon. They hold up really well. As a bonus, they're not too bulky for a half updo. Large intermediate size for versatility. Overall, definitely worth the money in terms of looks and functionality. However, only time will tell. I will update this review as it ages and will include the date of the first hinge failure.
