I'm always looking for ways to keep curls in my hair because it's straight and never holds. I've used them twice so far, and even after getting soaked in a downpour, the curls were still there (not as bouncy, but still there). The color convinced me. As long as you follow the instructions, they won't tug on your hair and are easy to put on and take off. I didn't realize my hair was that long and I probably should have bought bigger curlers but the curls still look great. The only thing I would like to change is how rigid they are. If you are looking for sleeping curlers, this is not the best option. I did it for the first time and it wasn't comfortable. Makeable. But not comfortable. Other than that, I really love these. Yes, unless you buy a $60 kit or something, you have to buy the hook separately. How do you say. And yes, you do have to screw the tube properly once the hair is in (sometimes it sticks out weirdly until you fix it), but if you take the time and learn how to use it, it works really well.
