Review on 🔌 Breville Electric Kettle, 2.3L Capacity, Glass, Efficient Heating by Joshua Fuoco

*****UPDATE******9. September 2016 I bought this product in March 2015. It lasted 18 months and then water started leaking through the switch just below the handle. Needless to say, the warranty has expired and I now have a useless piece of crap. I downgraded the original 4 stars to 2. ********************* The Breville BKE595XL is a pretty good kettle. I like the glass body, not only for aesthetic reasons (and looks lovely in the kitchen or on the table), but also because the Schott glass helps keep the water in the pot hotter for longer. The design of the pot is great. . It feels good together and with quality parts. I've had this pot for about 60 days now and haven't seen any rusting as some pots seem to be vulnerable after a few uses. I use this pot every day at least 3 times a day and it continues to work as it should. The two buttons on the pot (one to open the lid and the other to turn on/off) gave me no problems. The automatic shutdown is very nice. When the pot comes to a boil, you can hear the power button "click" as it returns to the "off" position, and that's it. There are no audible alarms (which I appreciate!) to indicate the water is ready. The base of this unit looks pretty solid, better than some other brands I've had. The cord wraps nicely in the base, and the cord itself isn't so short that it's unusable for those whose outlets are mounted slightly higher than the countertop. If you look into the pot you can see the polished stainless steel covering the heating element. Mirror quality stainless steel finish. The water in the pot boils quickly. I didn't time it, but this pot will boil 1700ml of water in about 7 minutes. It can't be longer than ten minutes. Remember that cooking time depends on sea level. So if you live at higher elevations it may take longer. Overall this is a great purchase and I would happily buy it again.
