This corresponds to: [ (490) X (8) X (32) X (512) ] = 64,225,280 Raw capacity: 64,225,280 bytes Formatted capacity: 63,934,464 bytes (payload data) Reason: Corporate hard disk manufacturers such as SanDisk define 1 megabyte than 1,000,000 bytes. Operating systems define 1 MEGABYTE as 1,048,576 BYTE (1024K x 1024K or 220th power). Example: SanDisk 64MB CompactFlash Card is read by the Microsoft operating system. The total formatted capacity of SanDisk divided by 1 MB (as determined by the operating system) is as follows: 63,934,464 BYTE / 1,048,576 BYTE = 60,972,656 BYTE, 60.9 MB is reported by the operating system.
