Warm coat, take the size up if you want looser fit.
My son is 2.5 years old but he is very tall for his age. I'm a size 3T and it fits well. Just a little longer on the arms. For reference, he is about 2 inches taller than the average child. It is an ice knit material and easy to clean. Well, you can close it tightly with buttons when the day is cold. Overall a good coat. Would buy again.
