Review on McDavid Bionic Knee Brace: BIO-LOGIX Hinged Lateral Support for Injury Relief and Recovery - Men and Women, Left or Right Side by Rick Gondoras

Size and wear as advertised I wanted this brace to help me recover from a sports injury that left my MCL. Immediately after purchase, I find the design and quality of the materials exceptional, and the fit is tailor-made for my foot. I quickly found that there was no need to over tighten the straps as when worn with one sleeve they stay in place even when I'm active. However, using the supplied compression sleeve on me has a tourniquet effect that creates a flow of soft tissue fluids in my lower leg; Creation of edema strips and bulges of the flesh. This leads me to believe that although the brace is the correct size, the supplied compression sleeve does not fit this size and I have unfortunately temporarily stopped using this otherwise spectacular knee brace. Another point I would like to emphasize is that the double loops on this brace are strong, secure and fit my knee joint perfectly. Don't worry about a hole in my outerwear. The limit screw, if present, would serve this product well to guard against momentary hyperextension of the knee. Finally, the open back design and thoughtful placement of the straps ensure minimal discomfort or pressure on the tendons behind the knee, provided of course that you don't over-tighten the straps unnecessarily. It seems that the problem I had with using the correct sleeve size stems from the elasticated cuff. Using a compression sleeve without this feature will most likely not have the adverse effect of a tourniquet on me. I like the lift so much that I bought a different sleeve design from a different manufacturer - without the striped elastic cuffs.
