My husband has a below knee amputation and this is the ONLY ointment recommended to be used on his residual limb before the silicone cover is fitted. He has NO issues with chafing, stinging or skin irritation from wearing a prosthesis 10 hours a day. He has extremely sensitive skin. The only complaint is that it's very thick and sticky. He puts them on every day before putting on his leg and only puts on a rubber glove so he doesn't have to wash his hands when putting on the prosthesis.
