It's okay, XLR contacts are weak and wear out quickly.
I purchased InstallerParts 15ft XLR 3P Male 1/4" Mono Microphone Cable - Professional Series - Stage, DJ, Pro, Studio Cable. I used the cable to connect an XLR microphone to a portable karaoke machine The cable is thick and the 1/4 mono plug is solid. However, the XLR plug is poor. The internal pins are cheap quality and easily loosen a strong connection, and a few mics stopped working with it. I picked up disassembled the XLR connector., crimped the flimsy metal connectors but they soon reappeared. I recommend looking elsewhere for a more reliable cable.
