OXO makes reliable cooking products. I had an unbranded version that I bought a few years ago to use at Christmas when my kids came to visit. They love pancakes. Me too, but I rarely make out. In any case, the cheap stuff was difficult to clean, none of the parts came off the cleaning. A few days later, dried pancake batter got stuck in the dispenser it was sealed with. The OXO model is better. The valve is removable for cleaning, the latch that closes the valve folds down so you can reach it properly to remove leftover dough. There are more measurement markings on the side and the grip works smoothly when squeezed. Each of these gravity dispensers must be learned. There are two things to consider: the thinness/thickness of the batter and how hard you squeeze the handle to spread the batter. My adult children love to make pancakes, waffles and use them for muffins. I ended up giving each of them one to take home.
