I bought this monitor and license plate camera for my 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup. After finding an accessible way for the camera to monitor the cable, I decided to route the cable along the passenger side and through a grommet in the floor under the passenger seat. I decided to connect the camera to the passenger side reversing lamp wire. The easiest method was to use a 22-18 AWG "Tap Splice" connector. The problem is that the power cord from the camera is too small to connect. I decided to replace the power cord with a larger cord. I learned after purchasing the connector that they are made in multiple sizes for the connector pin. My first choice was wrong (2.5mm). I went to Radio Shack and bought "M size, 2.1mm" and it worked. When I pulled the camera cable through the grommet to the monitor, I pulled the cable in half, very small wires. I fixed it and it worked again. I connected the monitor to a cable that heats up when the button is on, no problems with that. I connected the camera to the yellow wire of the monitor, the monitor turns on a few seconds after turning on reverse gear. The monitor is very clear with good color reproduction. The only problem is trying to connect to very thin wires. I would buy another camera and monitor, works very well.
