Review on Professional Curling and Lifting: Beauticom Dolly's Lash Lift Eyelash Wave Lotion Premium Perm Kit by Melanie Williams

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not as good as first purchase

Updated Review: I bought this set again in July 2019 and found the solution in the pink/blue bottle was much thicker than the one I had last year bought. After using this kit as directed and for the recommended maximum time, my lashes were barely frizzy. Not as high as the old kit. I figured it might be user error so I waited a few weeks for my lashes to just straighten and tried again, this time with an extra 2 minutes on one side and 5 on the other (for testing). I also tried it on my brother, same disappointing results. I've found the glue to be better, it seems a little thinner so it's easier to apply and remove. Conditioning oil also works better and speeds up adhesive removal. Silicone pads are better than any other I've tried. You can also reuse them. I suggest buying it separately and then trying other cheaper perm solutions and using a thick cleansing oil/balm to remove glue residue. The DHC cleansing oil works very well and does not stick the eyelashes together. You can use almost any transparent eyelash glue as the glue. Skip this lash lift kit, it's not as good as it used to be and it's still about double the price of others sold at Revain. Old review: I love this set! It took a while to get used to, but now I can do both lashes in 45 minutes. I've used this set about 6 times and have about half the products left except for the nourishing oil. It took a long time to peel off the adhesive. The medium pads gave me natural looking curls, the large pads were too heavy to use. I also ordered a separate set of small pads and tried them on my sister who has shorter lashes and it worked really well if you have very thick straight lashes that don't hold up well. The glue bottle "sticks" after using steam, so just wipe the rim and it helps to wrap the elastic around the cap or bottle to improve the hold. Use lots of glue when sticking the lashes onto the silicone. Once the pad is adhered to your eyelid, apply some glue to the pad and allow it to become tacky before lifting your lashes. Twist your lashes a little at a time so you have time to comb through them with a toothpick. When your lashes are flipped, apply another layer of glue and wait for it to dry before applying the first solution. If it's still sticky, your lashes will fall off the pad and turn into a sticky mess. My lashes stayed curled for about 6 weeks and I noticed they were less since I wasn't using curlers.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Definitely bad product
