Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not bad, not perfect, there are lags

I just got my screen and set it up an hour ago. I will probably come back to improve this rating. PRO- Picture Quality: Colors are good (more accurate than my laptop screen which tends to yellow). It's bright enough (I don't like it too bright anyway). - Nice looks, good construction - Screen protector included - All necessary cables included CONS - High gloss finish: I hate seeing my reflection on the screen (yes I'm such a freak :) ), maybe forget to use it there, where the light is on you. - Latency: When using USB-C I'd say the latency is around a tenth of a second, a little less with HDMI, but then you'll need to be powering it from a charger with a different cable (if you're plugging it into USB-C , while using HDMI for video, it turns off for 2 seconds every minute). It's fine for web browsing and office tasks, but not for content creation, how the heck doesn't another review mention this? - Heavy: Aluminum is good, but heavier than plastic, lid is also a bit heavy - Sound: No better than a low-end laptop - Screen protector is quite difficult to apply perfectly, it could be done by someone in a dust-free - Resolution: No makes sense in 4k on a 15.6 screen, the pixel density is ridiculously high (I knew that beforehand but only 4k screens have 99% sRGB which is what I actually wanted) CONCLUSION I really wonder what the market is for this product. Why does a nomad need a glossy screen? If you have a guaranteed non-light spot for the user, then it's probably an office and you can leave a cheaper, larger regular screen there. If the sound isn't better than a laptop, then what's the point? (just throw it away and save the weight). It's nice to have good colors but I doubt a graphic artist will tolerate the lag for long, it's like working with ultra high resolution images on an old PC. I'm disappointed. PS: I finally measured the lag with slow motion video. about 54ms longer on the phone than my laptop screen. Duplicating the display of something's feed measures the time difference. Watch video PPS: first edit, menu is buggy: - doesn't remember brightness level, I have to adjust after every wake up - I can't select presets except for game, RTS, standard. The screen turns off and restarts.
