Painful to use and unimpressive

Being a parent is hard enough, the last thing I want is a seemingly simple device making life complicated. I liked the look of this dummy sound machine in the photos but was very disappointed when it came to actually using the device. Something like this should be very intuitive and easy so you don't even have to read the instructions. However, this is the opposite. The buttons are very small, hidden in a silicon pad (close-up) and indistinguishable. One button is a black dial that you might assume is a volume control or something, but it just toggles between lullaby and white noise modes. Other silicone buttons are so small that you cannot see the printed symbol. I end up pushing all the buttons to see what it's for every time I use it. The "light show" looks disappointing and cheap. You can see the seam/fold of the paper in the window and it looks like it was made in an arts and crafts class using household materials. It doesn't project an image onto walls or anything like that. just lights up and changes colors. The sound quality is bad, but not the worst I've heard. but still not good. I really like the shape of the car, it resembles a rattle and my daughter likes to hold it. The silicone makes it soft and grippy. It's light, so I don't have to worry about it falling out of her hands and hitting her head. However, I usually just leave the device off and let her play with it like a rattle. making it an expensive rattle.
