I did some research and it seems like the 'guides' have really cheap designs and break. I wanted to avoid cosmetic surgery. Always wanted tight. I just couldn't buy after reading all the reviews. Then I stumbled across this one. I was skeptical. I mean $50 for a premium Wahls hair clipper that in the reviews seemed very cheap and broken. That's why I ordered it. I picked it up first and couldn't believe how heavy and durable it was. It's all solid steel, everything. There are no cheap parts that will slow you down. You can feel the solidity of the old school. But this is a modern design. Hair doesn't roll, my thick hair falls out immediately. Nozzles are easy to turn on and off. In fact, I got myself an amazing haircut just before I called Zoom! One of the cheapest purchases I've made. FYI, the nozzles are plastic, the only thing that isn't steel. I prefer them, but they work well.
