Works to keep out the flies.
This hat is reasonably well made, and seems like it will hold up for several seasons. I ordered it in navy blue, and the glare from the netting is not bad. The entire hat is made with cloth, no wires. I was surprised to find vents sewn into the outer brim, and a patterned liner with more netting. The vents don't seem very functional, but I wouldn't want to find a bee between the hat and liner either. I'm happy with it.
